All about usROVworks is a young, dynamic company set up by Mark Mitchell to make his engineering skills available to ROV operators who may not have the expertise or facilities to deal with major repairs and upgrades in-house. Mark is a multi-disciplined engineer who loves a technical challenge. Degree qualified in electronics, he spent twelve years as a Trials Engineer in the aerospace industry, working on the development of unmanned aircraft and laser guided weapon systems. For the last nine years he has been involved in ROV engineering support and operations for a number of clients in the nuclear and offshore industries. Nuclear experience includes: Fuel and debris removal from Windscale Piles air and water ducts, Dounreay non-active drains survey, Dounreay DFR vault ROV survey, ROV survey of contaminated facilities, adaption of various ROVs for nuclear tasks, modification of radiological instruments for remote operation, CCTV and Gamma probe installation. Marine experience includes: Refurbishment of work-class ROV including production of replacement boards for an obsolete multiplexer, modification of Hyball power modules, TMS repairs and modifications, base engineering support for offshore systems, operator training. FacilitiesOur electronics lab is equipped with CAD and Prototype PCB production facilities is addition to the usual range of test equipment, allowing us to take many electronic projects from conceptual design through to production in-house. We have recently fitted out a 20ft container as a mechanical workshop. Tooling includes: Lathe, milling machine, pillar drill, bandsaw, bench grinder, arc and MIG welders. This facility can be deployed to the clients site if the need arises.     |
